Progressive, On-Line Discussion and News Groups

Many URPE members would like to debate economics issues, announce or discuss political events, and send around articles on various topics. Because the URPE Listserv is limited in scope in order to minimize the flow, we are listing additional listservs you may want to join.

List Manager: Doug Henwood.
Archive: http://mailman.lbo-talk.org/pipermail/lbo-talk/
Description: lbo-talk is an email-based mailing list for disucssing politics, economics, and culture, all expansively defined, sponsored by this newsletter. Despite that sponsorship, I hope this list will be a forum for speaking across intellectual and social boundaries that have divided the left, such as it is, for too long. Among these oppositions I'd like to see worked through are ones like class/identity, cultural politics/"real" politics, Marxism/postmodernism, universal/particularist, activism/theory, economics/culture, nature/labor; nature/culture, and labor/culture.

National Economic Association (NEA-L)
To subscribe: https://lists.fsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/nea-l
Discussion on this list has no ideological limitations. However, list topics will be confined to economic policy, economic theory, job openings in economics, and other items of interest to professional economists. The list is particularly interested in fostering discussion of economic issues which are of exceptional interest to native and immigrant African Americans, Latinos, and other people of color. Also, the list is dedicated to developing an understanding of economic activity which reflects the cultural heritage and history of these groups.

Post Keynesian Thought (PKT)
To Subscribe, visit: http://www.tile.net/lists/?list_id=2209
Description: PKT aims at bringing together the work of economists and others interested in Post Keynesian economics and the social, historical, and political questions that have long been a part of the Post Keynesian tradition. The objective of PKT is to support an electronic community of scholars interested in going beyond conventional neoclassical economic analysis and moving forward in the tradition of Keynes, Kalecki, Robinson, and Sraffa.
